Niveau de ploïdie des huîtres des bassins de captage de Marennes Oléron et Arcachon (Campagne biovigilance 2007) ArchiMer

The monitoring of spat ploidy collected in the two main collection basins-Marennes Oléron and Arcachon-was realised through flow cytometry. Natural spat samples were collected on 3 sites in each basin and a total of 1 002 animals were analysed. Based on our samples, the results concluded that no polyploid, triploid or tetraploid animals were collected in the two investigated basins. These results comply with our provisions and do not bring any reason for a change in the practices used in triploid oyster culture. However, complementary studies on triploid residual gametogenesis, the nature of their gametes and that of their offsprings will have to be continued in order to fine-tune the estimates of the parameters on which the modeling scenarii of the...
